It’s rummage sale season: What to know about Sioux Falls' bargain hunts (2024)

For bargain shoppers, it’s the most wonderful time of the year: rummage sale season.

Whether you are looking for vintage furniture or home decor, rare collectibles or clothing, Sioux Falls rummage sales can offer a unique opportunity to discover one-of-a-kind treasures, all while reducing waste and supporting neighbors. And each year, a variety of area neighborhoods in and outside the city host such sales as a collective.

While on the hunt, keep these few tips in mind:

1. Garage sale etiquette (yes, it’s a thing).
2. Pack accordingly, which includes cash, snacks and water, sunscreen, comfy shoes, a tape measure and something to haul your finds.
3. For those holding garage sales, consider donating any leftover items after the event to local charities.
