Designed specifically for seniors, this conditioning class improves balance, posture, agility, and coordination. Class may be taken seated.

Barre Conditioning

Barre Conditioning

A total-body workout that combines simple ballet-inspired movements with Pilates and core conditioning exercises. By targeting smaller muscle groups that are typically neglected in traditional strength training, you’ll improve your core stability, posture, and joint alignment while increasing your range of motion. Balls and bands may be used to increase the level of difficulty.

Zumba

Zumba is a fun, easy-to-follow aerobics class that combines Latin dance moves with cardio training. It’s a wildly popular way to maximize caloric output while toning your whole body. Zumba takes the work out of working out.

Cycling

Increase endurance and break a sweat in this high-energy, music-driven stationary cycling class. Interval training techniques are used to simulate actual riding. All bikes are equipped with SPD pedals to accommodate cleats in addition to cages with straps for standard athletic shoes.

Is a group fitness certification worth it? ›

Having a Group Fitness Instructor Certification on a resume, especially alongside a specialized certification, tells group fitness directors that an instructor has received additional training. These could be in cueing, participation engagement, anatomy, movement, heart rate monitoring and many other skills.

Can you make a living as a group fitness instructor? ›

You can earn money and help people become fitter and healthier too. There are many opportunities to teach group fitness classes. Is 3 exercise classes a week enough? ›

For a beginner, three to four classes a week may be optimal in the beginning. But as you build endurance, you may find that five to six, or more HIIT sessions may start moving the needle faster. Some BMF addicts can come to class every day (and sometimes 2 times per day) with no issues at all.

According to their site, the AFAA Group Fitness Instructor Certification has a 61% pass rate, making it one of the harder certification tests. Personally, I don't think it will be too hard to pass if you study appropriately for at least 6 weeks.
