Death note is an AMAZING anime to binge-watch. Honestly, you'll love the characters and how insanely smart each one is. Light Yagami and L are two of the most loved & smartest fictional characters, hands down.

Death Note is usually the first anime that beginners are recommended because it gives a perfect glimpse of everything anime has to offer. It is a psychological thriller anime with 37 episodes.

If you make this Note unusable by tearing it up or burning it, all the humans who have touched the Note till then will die.

Ryuk has a great fondness for apples, comparing their effect on Shinigami to that of cigarettes and alcohol. He claims to go through a type of withdrawal if he goes for too long without them. His withdrawal symptoms involve twisting himself up like a pretzel and doing handstands.

Apart from L, Near is easily the smartest character in the series – smarter even than his partner, Mello. Near managed to make it to the very end, but he probably wouldn't have caught Light or made it as far as he did without the help of L and Mello.

Death Note is one of the most popular and well known anime of all time. Whether your allegiance lies with Light and his idea of the perfect world or L and his fight for justice, it is extremely easy to get immersed in discussions with the community.

It is a much more believable version of this character, and one I honestly prefer over the one in the anime. Every character was very well thought out and enjoyable, having both a touch of the original manga and the director's vision. The story was engaging and had me at the edge of my seat from start to finish.

Another awesome anime for beginners, Death Parade brings a lot to the table. It deals with the philosophical questions that follow the concept of death. In this show's world, after people die, they do not go into heaven or hell. In fact, they go to a bar that is managed by Decim, a bartender.
