Why is my AT&T network not working? ›

Restart your computer or device. Make sure your Wi-Fi settings are correct and the wireless adapter on your device is turned on. Check your manufacturer's documentation for device-specific instructions. Reduce the number of active devices connected to your network.

The carrier said the outage was likely caused by a process error and not a cyberattack. The Federal Communications Commission was investigating the incident. Days after the blackout, AT&T said it would apply a $5 credit to affected accounts.

Settings icon > scroll to and select General management > select Reset > Reset network settings > Reset settings > select Reset to confirm.

What caused the AT&T outage? An initial review by the company found the disruption was caused by the "application and execution of an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network," or, more simply put, a technical error.

AT&T on March 30 said that the personal information of 73 million current and former customers was leaked in mid-March to the dark web. The company said the stolen information appears to be from 2019 or earlier, and it does not know if the information came from AT&T or one of its vendors.

The outage knocked out cellphone service for thousands of its users across the U.S. starting early Thursday before it was restored. AT&T blamed the incident on an error in coding, without elaborating.

Update & verify software

Open a web browser and go to http://att.wirelessinternet. Enter your Admin login, then click Login. Note: Your login can be found on the bottom of your AT&T Wireless Internet. To view software updates, select AT&T Software Update > Check for Updates.

The reset button method involves physically pressing the reset button on your AT&T router's back side. It provides a straightforward and direct way to reset the ATT router to factory settings. This method is suitable for users who have physical access to the router and prefer a quick and simple reset process.

Note: Router reset will wipe out all of your customized settings. Router username and password will be reset to factory default values as shown on the router label. Personalized Wi-Fi settings will be deleted, including the Wi-Fi name and password you created.
